My new artwork has evolved over the last couple of years of changed social behaviour due to communities ‘living with covid’.
I spend a day a week in the bush researching the habits of birds and I use them to reflect the changes I see in human behaviour.
The full back stories will be told on opening night and copies will be given to the purchasers of any of the artworks.

13 editions of unframed artwork available to be reserved are all below
All papers are clear white or clear off white.
What appear to be areas of light brown are created by human shadows and wonky photos

'Adelaide'. Printed area 52 x 39cm.Paper 65.5 x 53.4cm: Hahnemuhle 150gsm. Unframed: $475. Framed: $1245.
Represents the qualities, emotions and experiences I have woven into who I am in the last 15 months. My life is once again full of colour.
'Are You Coming?'. Printed area 39 x 52cm. Paper 50 x 74: Fabriano Rosaspina 220gsm. Unframed: $475. Framed: $1245.
Depicts more than the reluctance to leave the known for the unknown, it also portrays the way this indecision is akin to what we call fence sitting
'As Time Goes By'. Printed area 60 x 60cm. Paper 88 x 63cm: Awagami Hoshu 80gsm. Unframed: $500. Framed: $1525
Relates to the rituals associated with feeding and protecting that both birds and humans have, rituals that survive the passing of time and covid.
'Beauty is Everywhere'. Printed area.36 x 54cm. Paper 50 x 74cm: Fabriano Accademia 120gsm. Unframed: $450. Framed: $1050.
This artwork asks you look past the face, look past the obvious and enjoy more than the obvious. The only connection with covid is that I had more time to spend observing such beautiful moments.
'Black Swan'. Printed area 36 x 54cm. Paper 47 x 64.4cm: Awagami Unryshi 22gsm. Unframed: $325. Framed: $870.
The delicate paper chosen for this artwork was selected to add to the feel associated with feathers of a black swan. It’s all about beauty, movement, presence, air and water.
'But Why?'. Printed area 39 x 57.4cm. Paper 50 x 74cm: Fabriano Rosaspina 220gsm. Unframed: $475. Framed: $1245.
Discrimination by exclusion, by people using unwelcoming body language, aimed at visitors to our town definitely heighted during covid. There was an obvious mistrust of people that weren’t known and a definite reluctance to welcome strangers into our community. All reflected in this artwork.
 Contemplation'. Printed area 57.4 x 39cm. Paper 74 x 50cm: Fabriano Rosaspina 220gsm. Unframed: $475. Framed $1245 (SOLD)
Covid brought with it periods of isolation and downtime. Time to think and time to ponder.
Last year I depicted the three reactions of Looking Back, Looking Forward and Ignoring in my artwork ‘Where to Next?’
This year I wanted to highlight two of the main reactions to this ‘extra time’ that of ‘Reflection’ and ‘Contemplation’.
'Neighbourhood Watch'. Printed area 39 x 57.4cm. Paper 50 x 74cm: Fabriano Rosaspina 220gsm. Unframed: $475. Framed $1295.
There has always been the ‘social gossips’ in our community and they hold an enormous bank of knowledge. They are few in number but extremely observant and reliable in their knowledge. However during covid I observed that everyone became extra talented at spotting and reporting every little incident on social media. This idea became the back-story of ‘Neighbourhood Watch’
 'Quiet Afternoons'. Printed area 21.5 x 21.5cm. Paper 32.8 x 26.3cm: Awagami Natural Kozo 46gsm. Unframed: $150. Framed:$415 (SOLD)
In this artwork I have tried to capture the beauty of the black swan’s colours against the brightness of the duck week and the tranquillity of quiet afternoons. Something I had more of during covid.
'Reflection'. Printed area 57.4 x 39cm. Paper 74 x 50cm: Fabriano Rosaspina 220gsm. Unframed: $475. Framed $1245
'The Outsider'. Printed area 39 x 57.4cm. Paper 56 x 75.8cm: Awagami Bamboo 110gsm. Unframed: $475. Framed: $1295.
Continuing the theme of suspicion and community vigilance brought on by the fear of covid I wanted to depict how individuals felt in the artwork ‘The Outsider’.
'Training' Printed area 29.7 x 42cm. Paper 38.5 x 53.6cm: Hahnemuhle 150gsm. Unframed: $325. Framed: $765.
‘Training’ came about from watching little immature blue wrens practicing their flying between the reeds and the bushes completely unaware of the issues faced by families with students learning to drive during 2020-2021.
'Where are all the Girls?'. Print area 60 x 60cm. Paper 75 x 70cm: Xuan Raw Rice paper. Unframed: $500. Framed: $1550.
I have tried to capture the expectation of physical relationships in ‘Where Are All the Girls’ through the groups of male wrens resplendent in their adult feathers and representative of our young adults seeking to undo the isolation and segregation that came with covid.
